Software Test Engineer Intern

Operated as the "first customer" for new networking features — catching defects that slip past autonomous frameworks. Owned the full validation lifecycle from spec to release sign-off, and built Python tooling that turned multi-step manual QA loops into one-command automated runs.

What I Owned

  • Translated specs, design docs, and protocol references into traceable test plans with explicit pass/fail criteria.
  • Designed multi-device topologies — switches, routers, hosts, traffic generators — and ran functional, regression, scale, and stress passes end-to-end.
  • Validated features like VLANs, routing protocols, link aggregation, QoS, and HA failover; debugged at the packet level with tcpdump and Wireshark.
  • Filed actionable bug reports with reproduction steps, log excerpts, packet captures, and root-cause hypotheses; verified fixes against the original failure conditions.
  • Performed release-readiness sign-off after running the full validation matrix and collaborated async with developers across time zones.
  • Built Python tooling for topology provisioning, log scraping, and result diffing — wired into CI/CD for nightly regression runs.

Designed and built the Cashew Automation System (CAS) — a web-based operations platform that streamlined the entire cashew manufacturing pipeline, from shelling through grading to packaging. Replaced spreadsheet-based tracking with real-time dashboards that gave shop-floor operators and management a single source of truth.

Outcomes Delivered

  • Built modules for end-to-end production monitoring across shelling, grading, and packaging stages.
  • Implemented real-time data capture and dashboards giving management instant visibility into plant throughput.
  • Reduced manual logging effort and human-error rates by digitizing previously paper-based workflows.
  • Drove consistent product quality through digitized workflow checkpoints and traceability.
  • Coordinated directly with the client to gather requirements, demo iterations, and refine UX based on operator feedback.
