Software Test Engineer Intern

Operated as the "first customer" for new networking features — catching defects that slip past autonomous frameworks. Owned the full validation lifecycle from spec to release sign-off, and built Python tooling that turned multi-step manual QA loops into one-command automated runs.
What I Owned
- Translated specs, design docs, and protocol references into traceable test plans with explicit pass/fail criteria.
- Designed multi-device topologies — switches, routers, hosts, traffic generators — and ran functional, regression, scale, and stress passes end-to-end.
- Validated features like VLANs, routing protocols, link aggregation, QoS, and HA failover; debugged at the packet level with tcpdump and Wireshark.
- Filed actionable bug reports with reproduction steps, log excerpts, packet captures, and root-cause hypotheses; verified fixes against the original failure conditions.
- Performed release-readiness sign-off after running the full validation matrix and collaborated async with developers across time zones.
- Built Python tooling for topology provisioning, log scraping, and result diffing — wired into CI/CD for nightly regression runs.
